Baby alpaca throw This fishbone throw made of 100% baby alpaca is a high quality and noble product designed in such a way that it adapts to different rooms in the house, can be taken with you on trips and can even be used as a warm scarf. The fabric is supple, warming and naturally agreeable. Our baby alpaca throws are made on site in various communities in the Andes. We adapt our designs to the production capabilities of each community, thus achieving a collection that expresses the local culture and resources in South America in each design. Our artisans work with a wide variety of techniques ranging from hand spinning, hand weaving, hand operated machines to manufacturing with different textures and natural colours to accompany you on different occasions over the years. Antiallergic – Warm – Soft – Breathable – Dirt-repellent Alpacas are animals that live under the extreme conditions of the Andean highlands in South America: at an altitude that can exceed 4,500 meters and at temperatures between -20° C and + 20° C. Baby alpaca fibre comes mainly from the alpacas’ first shear when they are around 2½ years old. In order to adapt to these harsh climatic conditions, they develop special protection: a long, fine fur that does not retain water and is particularly warm. Thanks to these thermo-regulating properties, this Dagne throw offers optimal warmth in winter and when it is warm, this fibre feels cool. Alpaca fibre is a natural product that “breathes”. In addition, natural baby alpaca fibre has an antibacterial effect, i.e. Bacteria cannot multiply on its surface and die. Finally, baby alpaca fibre is biodegradable. That is the secret of the quality of this precious fibre. With regard to the fineness of the fibre, our throws are very soft and hypoallergenic. For this reason, they are very suitable for sensitive and delicate skin. Alpaca wool is dirt-repellent and odor-neutralizing, i.e. it can give off odors again when airing. Baby alpaca fibre is also biodegradable. TASHAY cares about the environment: the products made exclusively from natural fibres are 100% sustainable: the breeding practices use traditional methods. The camelids are sheared manually, avoiding the use of machines and harmful chemicals by using the natural colours of these fibres as the basis of our collections, which range from natural colour to black through various shades of gray and brown.
